Advanced Hearing Care from Alliance’s Trusted Audiology Experts

Alliance was shaped by crossroads, rail lines, neighborhood pride, and steady relationships. Known as “The Crossing,” it remains a place where daily conversation matters: a Mount Union event, a Carnation Festival parade, a church supper, a meal near State Street, a walk through Silver Park, or an evening with grandchildren.

At Modern Hearing Solutions, our Alliance clinic helps protect those moments through careful diagnostic testing, evidence-informed treatment, and practical guidance. We are not here to push a generic amplifier. Our specialists help patients understand what is happening inside the auditory system, how hearing changes affect communication, and which step may support clearer listening, tinnitus relief, cognitive confidence, long-term rehabilitation, and quality of life.

Comprehensive Hearing Solutions for Alliance, OH

We help adults understand what is affecting their hearing, tinnitus, and everyday communication. Our specialists use careful diagnostic testing to identify your specific needs, then recommend personalized treatment options designed to improve clarity, comfort, confidence, and long-term quality of life.
Comprehensive Hearing Tests

Diagnostic Hearing Testing with Cognitive Wellness Guidance

A strong appointment should measure more than whether you detect a beep. In Alliance, we review thresholds, speech understanding, word recognition, and listening performance with background sound. When appropriate, we also discuss cognitive screening because untreated hearing loss has been linked in research to cognitive decline and dementia.

You receive a clear explanation of the results. We discuss whether monitoring, physician referral, hearing aid technology, communication coaching, or another treatment direction is appropriate. The goal is a useful roadmap, not a confusing stack of charts.

Ideal for: adults who ask others to repeat, lose track in groups, feel drained after gatherings, or want a baseline before problems become disruptive.

Tinnitus Evaluations & Treatment

Tinnitus Treatment for Ringing, Buzzing, Rushing, and Other Phantom Sound

Tinnitus can appear as ringing, buzzing, rushing, humming, hissing, pulsing, or a steady high tone. It may feel louder at bedtime, during stress, after machinery or music exposure, or whenever the house is quiet. For some, it interrupts sleep, reading, prayer, office tasks, and peace of mind.

Our tinnitus process begins with your story. We review when the sound appears, how intense it feels, whether hearing loss is present, and how much it affects rest or concentration. Your strategy may use sound enrichment, masking features, hearing aid tinnitus tools, therapeutic audio, counseling-informed methods, and scheduled adjustments.

Ideal for: anyone whose tinnitus interferes with sleep, focus, calm, productivity, or family time.

Professional Hearing Aid Fitting

Hearing Aid Fitting, Real-Ear Measurement, Oticon, Phonak, and More

A hearing aid should be chosen and tuned for the person wearing it. Our specialists use real-ear measurement to check how amplified sound behaves inside your ear canal, then shape the settings around your prescription, speech goals, and daily surroundings.

We work with respected hearing aid platforms, including Oticon, Phonak, Phonak Lyric, Bluetooth-enabled instruments, discreet styles, and models with tinnitus tools. The aim is not merely louder volume. The aim is clearer speech, easier listening, balanced comfort, and confidence during worship, meals, meetings, phone calls, and family conversations.

Ideal for: first-time users, current wearers unhappy with clarity, patients comparing upgrades, and families choosing technology for an older adult.

When Listening Becomes Harder

Hearing loss may develop quietly. You might notice alarms, traffic, music, or a closing door, yet miss consonants, soft voices, or speech from another room. Family members may seem to mumble. Group meals may feel tiring. In noisy environments, the brain must work harder to piece together missing words, which can lead to frustration or withdrawal.

Many Alliance households reach out when someone relies on captions, avoids gatherings, answers off-topic, or seems unusually tired after social events. These patterns may reflect listening strain, not stubbornness. A thorough test can show which frequencies are reduced and how those results relate to ordinary life.

What to Expect at Your Appointment

Your first session is organized, relaxed, and educational. We begin with your priorities: work demands, church or civic activities, hobbies, noise exposure, phone habits, dexterity, transportation needs, and previous technology use. When needed, we inspect the ear canal and complete the proper test sequence. Afterward, we translate the findings into plain language and outline realistic options.

Spouses, adult children, and caregivers are welcome. Hearing difficulty affects more than one person. It can change meals, television routines, driving safety, errands, and family patience. Simple habits, facing the listener, reducing competing noise, using a name before speaking, and choosing well-lit seating, can make communication smoother while formal care begins.

I am so grateful to Modern hearing solutions for testing, matching, and fitting me with the amazing aids I wear. I am so happy to not miss a word at church, in a restaurant, while using my phone, and while enjoying tv. They are as important to me as wearing my glasses. Three years ago when I started using them, there was no trial period necessary for me. They have been amazing since day one. And I especially appreciate stopping in any time to have them cleaned. Dr Nash made everything so easy and clear for me. I am extremely grateful to all of her staff.

Hello Modern Hearing Solutions team. Thank you so much. My husband is a patient of yours and travels constantly, and on a recent trip his Lyric suddenly went out while he was in Fort Lewis, Washington. One quick phone call later, your team pulled together and somehow got a replacement overnighted to him so he could stay effective at work.

I really appreciate how quickly you acted and I was honestly surprised (and impressed) that you just dropped the Lyric straight in the mail to him yourselves. He’s always spoken very highly of everyone at Modern Hearing Solutions, which, coming from him, is not praise he gives lightly. Now I fully understand why. Thank you again for taking such great care of him.

Always Excellent Service! This review is long overdue and I certainly should have written Modern Hearing Solutions at the Five Star level on several past visits. I have never been more satisfied and pleased with the level of attention to customer needs the Canton office routinely provides. The most recent example being my current trip to Disney with my eight year old and a “washout” hearing aid loss at the Typhoon Lagoon - I typically travel with a spare for just such events; however, family vacation didn’t warrant the additional thought I’d put into work trips in my past. Lesson Learned. *I wear the Lyric IIC Hearing Aid

Upon calling Modern Hearing Solutions at close of business Thursday , 04 DEC I was immediately taken care of and redirected to a local office in Orlando where I could get a replacement while traveling. I also scheduled a first available appointment for my return Monday 08 DEC. *This appointment is primarily to personally thank all the folks at the Canton office for their immediate assistance and personal attention they never fail to provide.

Thank you Modern Hearing Solutions Canton Office!

Making an appointment was quick and informative. The appointment itself was wonderful. Started at my scheduled time. Dr Smith was delightful and I learned so much from her. Was not overly surprised at how much hearing loss I already had but to see it on paper was definitely eye-opening. I was so excited to be able to leave my first appointment with my new hearing aids to test out, and then to be able to go back in a week for any needed adjustments is a testament to such great service. I hope more people my age take the leap (I’m 57) and at least go for the consultation. It’s not cheap but it’s such an important investment in quality of life. I only wish I had gone sooner. Goodbye subtitles and choosing restaurants that are “easy-to-hear” type of places. Hello freedom!

Alliance patients choose Modern Hearing Solutions because we emphasize education, transparency, and continuing support. FAQ'S

How do I know if it’s time to schedule a hearing test?

You should schedule a hearing test if you frequently ask people to repeat themselves, turn the TV volume up higher than others prefer, or feel exhausted after socializing. We at Modern Hearing Solutions recommend a baseline hearing evaluation every year to monitor natural, age-related changes in your hearing profile.

Why can I hear people talking, but I can't understand the words?

Hearing sound but lacking clarity is the most common symptom of age-related hearing loss (presbycusis). You are likely losing high-frequency sounds, like the consonants s, f, th, and sh, which provide the clarity in human speech. Our advanced hearing solutions are specifically programmed to isolate and amplify these high-frequency speech cues, making conversations clear again.

Is it normal to struggle to hear in noisy restaurants?

Yes. Background noise combined with high-frequency hearing loss makes it incredibly difficult for your brain to separate speech from surrounding clatter. Modern Hearing Solutions utilizes directional microphones and AI-driven background noise reduction to focus on the person sitting across from you while softening the noise around you.

Do your hearing specialists treat ringing in the ears (tinnitus)?

Yes, we provide specialized management for tinnitus. Ringing, buzzing, or hissing in the ears often goes hand-in-hand with hearing loss. Many of our premium hearing devices feature built-in tinnitus masking technology that plays soothing, customized sounds to help your brain ignore the ringing.

What is the best type of hearing aid for older adults?

The “best” device depends entirely on your specific hearing loss, dexterity, and lifestyle. However, Receiver-In-Canal (RIC) models are currently the most popular choice because they are discreet, comfortable, and pack the most advanced speech-enhancement technology without feeling plugged up.
