Finally Quiet, The Medical Treatment of Tinnitus

TINNITUS

Ringing, buzzing, or another sound no one else hears?

Finally Quiet explains what causes tinnitus, why it sticks around, and the treatment that has helped thousands of patients quiet the ringing. Read it before your visit so you arrive with better questions.

Your Choice, Isolation and Decline are Optional

HEARING AND BRAIN HEALTH

You hear people talking, but the words are not always clear?

Your Choice covers the link between untreated hearing loss, memory, and staying independent as you age, plus the proven steps that lower your risk. It is the best 30 minutes you can spend before your appointment.

A quick note: These books are educational resources, not a diagnosis. They give you a starting point for the conversation with our team at your visit.

What to expect on your first visit

Your appointment takes about 60 to 90 minutes. Here is exactly how it goes, start to finish.

Get to know you and understand your symptoms

Discuss your treatment goals and medical history

Determine your stage of hearing loss or tinnitus

Answer all of your questions and concerns

Begin a custom treatment plan

How to get ready for your appointment

Bring someone who knows you

A spouse, adult child, or close friend hears things you may miss and helps you remember what was said. Patients who bring someone get more out of the visit.

Arrive about 10 minutes early

That gives you time for a short intake form so your full appointment stays focused on your hearing, not paperwork.

Questions patients ask before their first visit

How long will my appointment take?

Plan on 60 to 90 minutes. That covers your conversation with the provider, a full diagnostic evaluation, a review of your results, and time for your questions. You will not be rushed through.

Will I get my results the same day?

Yes. We go over your results with you before you leave and explain what they mean in plain language. If treatment makes sense for you, we will walk through your options and what each one involves.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

No referral is needed to see us. If your insurance plan requires one for coverage, our team will let you know when we call to confirm your appointment.

Am I going to be pressured into buying hearing aids?

No. The purpose of the first visit is to find out what is actually going on with your hearing. Some patients need treatment, some need monitoring, and some need nothing at all. You will get a straight answer either way.

What if I need to change or cancel my appointment?

Just call the office you are scheduled with, or call our main line at 330-427-3823. We will find a time that works better for you.

Have a question before your visit?

Our team is here Monday through Friday and happy to help. You can also keep reading about hearing loss and tinnitus while you wait for our call.
